Ibos & Jarvis: Turning another page in a book of beautiful memories

Michael Ibos and Brandy Jarvis’ love story began like many others — on a college campus. They both were pursing business administration degrees and involved as student leaders at the University of Southern Mississippi. “We started out as friends and over time our love for each other grew to the point where we couldn’t imagine life without each other,” Brandy shares.

After a four-year courtship, Michael proposed with a photo album showcasing a fairytale story of their memories together. At the end of the book it said, “As we all know, every fairytale deserves a happily ever after.” As Brandy turned to the final page, Michael dropped to one knee and read the final page, which was adorned with a two- carat diamond ring. “Will you be my happily ever after and marry me?” he asked. A joyful, teary-eyed Brandy replied “Yes!”

The two wed April 1 on a sunny day with blue sky and cool breezes. “Our favorite moments were our first dance to the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeren and seeing the gorgeously decorated tent for the first time at the reception,” Brandy says.

The Iboses honeymooned at the fivestar Grand Hyatt Resort in Kauai and at the Hyatt Regency in Honolulu, Hawaii. “We enjoyed hikes, walks on the beach and views of gorgeous waterfalls. My favorite part was the view from the top of Diamondhead. Hawaii is truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever been!” Brandy shares.

Brandy shares this advice with other brides-to-be: “Don’t stress about the little things! Hire a wedding planner it is worth every penny! Remember its not really about the flowers, food, entertainment, etc. Your wedding is about proclaiming the LOVE you have for one another in front of your family, friends and God. Everything else on your wedding day is just icing on the cake!”

With school and the wedding behind them, Michael is a national client solutions manager at Freeman Expositions Inc. in New Orleans. Brandy is a former NFL cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints who also scored modeling and acting jobs in New Orleans for advertising, commercials, television and film. She now works for After The Proposal Weddings & Events, coaches the St. Patrick Emeralds Dance Team and is a professional makeup artist in Biloxi.

The couple live in Biloxi.
